Halal Whisky

A Florida based beverages company named ArKay has come up with the world’s first ever Halal Whisky. The company claims the beverage to taste just like whisky only that it is 100% alcohol free.

ArKay has already setup an online store and offers free shipping on purchase of 6 or more bottles of Halal whisky. It has offices located in 5 countries around the world including United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.

According to Daily Mail Online, a spokesman for the Scotch Whisky Association said:

“It is not possible to make alcohol-free whisky. This company is trying to exploit whisky’s reputation with highly irresponsible marketing.”

A spokesman for ArKay said:

“The exceptional taste of whisky without the alcohol content makes it a perfect beverage day or night. ‘ArKay has zero per cent alcohol and it is designed to allow individuals with medical conditions or with religious beliefs that prohibit alcohol consumption, to drink. ‘Imagine being able to enjoy your favorite whisky drink at parties without worrying about drinking and driving. ‘ArKay tastes and looks exactly like traditional whisky. It is suitable for drinking straight-up, on the rocks, or with your favorite mixers.”

The company’s corporate website also displays a Halal certificate, something that has significant value in Islamic countries and Muslim consumers in non-Muslim nations.

The certificate of approval has originated from Ethiopia but whether or not it will make to markets in Muslim countries is a big question.

Each bottle of Halal whisky costs about $25 in the United States. There is a huge collection of alcohol free products on the company’s online store including Alcohol Free Tequila,  Alcohol Free Peppermint, Alcohol Free Vodka, Alcohol Free Brandy, Alcohol Free Gin etc.
