Government Announces Public Holidays in Pakistan

The Government of Pakistan has issued a list of public holidays in Pakistan for 2019. A total of 14 public holidays have been listed by the federal government an announcement made on Sunday 3 February 2019. The notification of the public holidays in Pakistan was issued by the Federal Ministry of Interior.

The holidays include Kashmir Day, Pakistan Day, Labour Day, Eidul Fitr, Eidul Azha, Independence Day, Ashura, Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) and Quaid-e-Azam Day.

According to the notification, Muslims can avail only one optional holiday while non-Muslims can take up to three.

The holidays for Muslim festivals are subject to the appearance of the moon.
