Misao Okawa , the Japanese supercentenarian woman and Guinness World Record holder of Oldest Living Person in World, dies less than a month after celebrating her 117th birthday.
Misao Okawa was bron on March 5, 1898 in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. She was holding the record of oldest living person after death of Jiroemon Kimura on 12 June, 2013.
She was also the oldest known Japanese woman ever and oldest known Asian ever and 5th oldest person ever recorded in history.
Misao Okawa’s eldest son is currently 92 years old.
When asked the secret of longevity, she replied “sushi and sleep”.
Okawa died at her nursing home residence in Higashisumiyoshi-ku, Osaka, Japan at 6:58 a.m. on 1 April 2015.
After the death of Misao Okawa, Gertrude Weaver becomes the oldest living person on the planet. She is curently 116 years and 271 days years old.
The oldest person ever recorded was Jeanne Calment from France who lived 122 years and 164 days. He died on 4th August, 1997.
